CITY OF MALOLOS-Meticulously sewn and hand painted Bulacan-made gowns and barongs will once again conquer the runway as Bulacan Association of Resort Owners (BARO) and other partners launch the Barong Bulacan fashion show on September 14, 2012, 7 pm at the Hiyas Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.

The said show will feature Bulakenyo designers and their beautiful creations made out of Bulacan fabrics like sinamay.

Further, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the event also aims to encourage other designers, local and international, to use Bulacan fabrics in their creations.

Among the featured designs that will flood the catwalk and will be modeled by more or less 40 models are cocktail, avant garde, wedding and filipiniana collections.

Hand-painted barongs of the renowned Robert Zamora will also be displayed together with the works of other local Bulakenyo designers like Alan Soriano, Marvin Garcia, Mannie Halasan, Jersey Lopez, Rave and Jam, Hermo Florece and Vince Sityar.

“Sa show na ito makikita na tayong mga Bulakenyo, pwede nating ipagmalaki ang mga gawang Bulacan locally and internationally,” Barong Bulacan Fashion Show Deputy Project Director Glen de Jesus said.

Barong Bulacan fashion show is a joint project of BARO, Provincial Government of Bulacan, Malolos Diocese Cultural and Heritage Preservation, Malolos Bakers Association and Kababaihang Malolos Foundation, Inc. ###
