CITY OF MALOLOS – As the recently appointed Regional Development Council III Chairman, Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado expressed his desire to guide Central Luzon in attaining economic growth in the 14th Session RDC Fourth Full Council Meeting held at NEDA Regional Office III, Maimpis, San Fernando, Pampanga yesterday.

“As the newly appointed RDC Chairman, I want to lead in attaining economic growth for the whole region, which is truly sustainable and that begins with good plans and programs that will promote innovation throughout our economy,” Alvarado said.

With a goal of being the next frontline for growth and development in the country, Alvarado announced his top priorities such as the revival of the Pampanga River Control System, the construction of Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) Phase II in Nueva Ecija, the rehabilitation of roads leading to ecotourism sites of Zambales and the long-term solutions to address perennial flood in the region.

“Once these projects are implemented or stated, these will be our contribution in building the good legacy of the administration’s accomplishments and in preparing the region for the opportunities for our constituents,” Alvarado said.

Aside from the said projects, RDC III will also focus on the implementation of national government projects including the twinning of Clark International Airport and Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the conversion of Bayabas River to Dam, the rationalized development of seaports and the construction of Balog-balog Dam in Tarlac.

Alvarado also said that by using the developmental plan of the provinces in Central Luzon, the region will be able to transform and intensify the people’s socio-economic life and that development will be the key for the progressive economy of Luzon.

Meanwhile, the outgoing Regional Development Council (RDC) III Chairman and Pampanga 3rd District Congressman Oscar Rodriguez give his full support to Alvarado in fostering excellence in governance that will make RDC III one of the most active and dynamic council in the country.

“I’m confident that Gov. Alvarado will govern our region with good governance and let’s be cooperative for our region’s economic progress and development,” said Rodriguez. ###
