PCCI names Bulacan as Most Business-Friendly LGU for the second time

CITY OF MALOLOS – The commendable efforts and innovations of the province of Bulacan in uplifting the business industry has been recognized once again by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the “Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit” in the 42nd Philippine Business Conference and Expo at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Resorts World Manila, Pasay City yesterday.

Gov. Wilhemino M. Sy-Alvarado together with Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando received the award from no less than President Rodrigo Duterte who graced the event as the guest of honor and spoke before thousands of local and foreign business leaders from various delegations.

According to PCCI, the province that is known as the “Micro and Small Enterprises Capital of Central Luzon” was chosen as the recipient of the award because of its commendable efforts in adopting and instituting innovative business practices that significantly benefited the business industry particularly the small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which contribute to the economic growth of the country.

Alvarado expressed his gratitude to the PCCI and said that the award will further boost the credentials of Bulacan in attracting more foreign and domestic investors that will spur opportunities to thousands of Bulakenyos.

“This award is the manifestation of the growing economic activity of Bulacan and we will continue to support the business industry that plays a vital role in the development of our national economic agenda,” the governor said.

The province was also commended by the president because of its development programs that continues to benefit thousands of cooperatives and enterprises and for its future plans of creating competitive infrastructures that would strengthen competitiveness and open trade opportunities among the Filipinos and foreign investors.

Duterte also applauded the governor for his exemplary leadership that brought considerable growth in the increase of assets and employment generation in the province, as well as his call to increase public awareness about cooperatives and their contributions to socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, the province of Bulacan which is dubbed as the “New Mecca” of investments in the Philippines and one of the “well-oiled” engines of growth in the country has also recently received the CSC Regional Pagasa Award for its notable contributions in the business industry.
