Bulacan receives 2016 CSC Pagasa Award

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Synergist of the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) received the 2016 National Civil Service Commission Pagasa Award – Group Category conferred by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte during the Awards Rites of the 2016 Search for Outstanding Government Workers held Monday, December 19, 2016 at Heroes Hall, Malacañan Palace, Manila.

The group was awarded for their sheer determination to turn Bulacan into a micro and small enterprise (MSE) capital in Region 3 through e2E+ Program for MSES where e means micro enterprises, 2 means “to” or transform, E means bigger enterprises and + means projects/activities which are products of innovation.

The Bulacan Packaging Service and Toll Packing Center (BPSTPC) and the Bulacan Pasalubong Center (BPC) are two notable innovative approaches that strengthen product development and marketing and promotion of Bulacan products respectively.

Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that The Synergist served as an exemplary model of excellence and integrity to other government workers.

Alvarado added that the e2E+ Program for MSEs once again proved its notable contributions and impact in the province as well as in the region. He further explained that this program of the PGB through the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) was composed of a whole package of assistance geared towards helping MSEs and cooperatives in Bulacan engaged in manufacturing or producing food and non-food products improve their businesses, become globally competitive, and eventually contribute in boosting the economy.

According to the Civil Service Commission, by providing trainings, management and technical assistance, and financial assistance to thousands of beneficiaries, the team was able to engage entrepreneurs and help them organize businesses and trade fairs. The team’s intensive campaign to drive economic success in the province resulted into a Php5 million worth of revenue to the Provincial Government in a period of three (3) years. The team became an instrument player in the development of Bulacan and in the improvement of lives of many of its constituents.

The team was composed of Cynthia P. Abiol, Department Head of the PCEDO who served as the team leader and her five staff namely Ma. Athena M. Agoot, Lexter C. Catalan, Jacqueline Carlota DL. Magpayo, Jarlyn M. Oliver and Eufronio G. Umali.

The team received a plaque of recognition, Php100,000 cash reward, scholarship grant and other incentives while each of the member was given a gold-gilded medallion.

Meanwhile, Artemio F. Baylosis, General Manager of the Baliwag Water District, Baliwag, Bulacan received the 2016 CSC Pagasa Award-Individual Category for his innovative leadership that turned the Baliwag Water District into an efficient government service provider.

The CSC Pagasa Award is conferred to an individual or group of individuals for outstanding contribution/s resulting from an idea or performance that directly benefit more than one department of the government.
