CITY OF MALOLOS - “Do good and good will come to you.”

This saying has been true to Noel Chavez Cayabyab after receiving a certificate of appreciation and cash incentive from the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando during the “Araw ng Lingkod Lansangan” held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city yesterday.

Cayabyab, who is a jeepney driver from the City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, was recognized for returning the wallet of his passenger whom he personally searched for, which contains check and cash.

Vice Gov. Fernando thanked Cayabyab for his honesty and said that those little acts, like following traffic rules, no matter how small, could influence others to also do good.

For his part, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Technical Division Chief Joel Balano commended the jeepney drivers who spent their lives serving the public.

Meanwhile, three lucky jeepney drivers won at the “JODA Got Talent” singing contest wherein Mark Gonzales bagged the first place with P10,000 cash prize; Phong Faustino went home with P6,000 as the second place; and Jeremias Ordista, Jr. won who landed on the third spot won P4,000. All the remaining contestants received P1,000 consolation prize each.

Aside from that, a flat screen television, washing machine, 20 sacks of rice, 4 electric fans, water dispenser, 5 units of cellphone, 2 gas stoves, 4 rice cookers, 4 flat irons and 3 kettles were drawn for the attendees.

Also, all the participants who are members of the Bulacan Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association received grocery packs from the PGB through the Provincial Administrator’s Office.
