CITY OF MALOLOS Ė Two hundred fifty Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Libya will benefit in the integrated program of the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) as initiated by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado.

The said integrated program, which is composed of stress management seminar, job referral and placement, financial assistance and scholarship program, is made possible thru the collective efforts of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Technical Education and Skills Development (TESDA) and other local government units in Bulacan.

ďWe are currently profiling the affected OFWs and giving them all the help that we can extend to them. Aside from giving them counseling to help them recover from the crisis, we also provide job referrals, skills trainings and entrepreneurship development trainings which will open new doors for business and employment opportunities,Ē said Gov. Alvarado.

After the skills training, the PGB will also provide them with starter kits which contain materials that they will need to set-up their own business.

According to the Provincial Public Employment Service Office, there are already 239 OFWs on their list coming from the different parts of the province.

Families of the repatriated OFWs can also benefit in the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) which will give summer jobs to children of OFW who are studying in college.
Scholarship assistance will also be granted to the children of OFWs thru the PGB Scholarship Program.
Moreover, more than 30 companies will participate in the job fair for local and overseas employment to be held on April 12 at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium. ###
