CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan’s search for Outstanding Bulakenyo also known as Gawad Dangal ng Lipi is now open and accepting nominations.

The annual search will give recognition to today’s modern heroes and outstanding sons and daughters of the province who excel in their different fields of expertise such as public service, professional, community service, entrepreneur, education, science and technology, arts and culture, trade and industry, health, agriculture, sports and Bulakenyo Expatriate.

Moreover, the highest award, which is the Tanging Bulakenyo, will be given to a Bulakenyo who excels in any of the awards categories stated above and with an outstanding performance and contribution to the society.

Also, Gawad Dangal ng Lipi will be one of the highlights on the upcoming celebration of Buwan ng Bulacan, popularly known as Singkaban Fiesta, come this September.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado encourages all the Bulakenyos to support the said event thru submission of nominees from all the municipalities in the province.

He said, Bulacan is rich with people with invaluable contribution to province’s progressive economy and source of pride, thus making it impossible not to find a possible nominee.

“We are requesting for your help and cooperation in the gathering of nominations, do not hesitate to nominate a person whom you believe is deserving of the award,” the governor added.

The Provincial Planning Development Office (PPDO), the awards secretariat, said that nominations must be submitted on or before June 30, 2011.
