CITY OF MALOLOS— More than 500 ethnic people from 47 indigenous communities from different parts of the country will get together at the historical province of Bulacan as part of the “DAYAW: A National Festival of Indigenous People” that will be held on November 27 until 29, 2012.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the indigenous people are welcome in Bulacan and they are privileged to show them the places and products that the province offers.

Elizabeth Alonzo, head of Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PYSEACTO), said that they are also expecting more tourists to arrive in the province for they can have a chance to witness performances, forums, exhibitions, ethnic games and other activities that will be done during the five-day stay of the indigenous groups in Bulacan.

A trade fair will also be set-up where in the products of the indigenous people will be showcased and made available for the public to buy.

This project is made possible through the efforts of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCAA), Interskills Foundation Inc. and the Provincial Government of Bulacan. ###
