CITY OF MALOLOS- Some 3,500 members of the community health teams (CHTs) will hold its general assembly for the year 2012 to talk about the issues in addressing health needs especially of the poorest families in Bulacan come December 5-6, 2012, 1-5 in the afternoon at the provincial gymnasium.

Dr. Jocelyn Gomez of the Provincial Public Health Office said these CHTs are the front liners in their respective communities in giving information and guidance to those who want to access health services.

According to the Department of Health, CHTs give direct assistance to underserved Filipino families all over the country by helping them navigate or find their way through the health
system. The CHT Mobilization aims to link these families to social service providers, provide
critical social services when needed, and deliver key health messages.

“Itong CHTs, tungkulin nilang hanapin at tulungan ‘yung mga pinaka nangangailangang pamilya na na-identify na ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) kasama ‘yung mga nakailalim sa Pantawid Pamilya. Katuwang natin sila sa pagbababa ng impormasyon tungkol sa mga health service na maari nilang ma-avail and this include Health education and information in maternal and child care, adoption of a healthy lifestyle, and utilization and availing of PhilHealth benefits,” added Gomez.

Meanwhile, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado stressed the importance of the team to alleviate the progression of illness.
