CITY OF MALOLOS-Bulacan officials led by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and leaders of different religious groups along with other Bulakenyos successfully reunited in a day of prayer dubbed as “Bulacan Day of Prayer Year 2” held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city yesterday.

Themed as “Sama-samang Panalangin para sa Lalawigan ng Bulacan”, more or less 1, 500 attended and prayed for the welfare of Bulacan wherein leaders of various religious organizations were given a chance to lead the prayer and give benediction.

Provincial Capitol chaplain Father Renato Brion said in his homily to not pray for Bulacan, instead, pray for its people.

“Kahit iba-iba ang relihiyon natin, may isang bagay na sigurado akong pare-pareho tayo, ‘yun ay ang pananalangin,” Brion added.

Evangelist Bro. Eddie Villanueva of Jesus is Lord Church said that in God’s eyes, there is no particular religion that will save human beings.

“Ang mahalaga sa Diyos ay hindi relihiyon kundi ang relasyon natin sa Kanya,” Villanueva added.

Aside from exhortation, benediction and singing the Day of Prayer’s theme song Lord, Heal our Land, the said religious groups will also have a prayer vigil from 10 am to 10 pm at the Local Governance Center, Hiyas ng Bulacan.

The first Bulacan Day of Prayer held at Mini-forest, Bulacan Capitol Compound was successfully held in January last year and was attended by different religious organizations in Bulacan.###
