CITY OF MALOLOS- In a bid to continuously strengthen its disaster preparedness, the Provincial Government of Bulacan led by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, thru its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) elevated their knowledge about Incident Command System (ICS) through the ICS Position Title Course Training held at Subic Holiday Villas, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority last April 22-26, 2013.

Organized by the Office of the Civil Defense Region 3 (OCDR3), the said five-day training was attended by 58 participants from various PDRRMO in Region 3.

According to OCDR3 Director Josefina Timoteo, the said training aims to familiarize the response teams in different position titles such as Incident Commander, Operations Section Chief, Logistics Section Chief and Finance and Administration Section Chief and their responsibilities in Incident Command Teams.

“Kapag naging familiar na ang ating response teams sa mga position titles sa ICS, mas lalong magiging effective and systematized ang mga Incident Command Team sa Region 3“, Timoteo said.

Aside from OCD3 Director Timoteo, other speakers who also discussed about the responsibilities of each titles include OCD4 Director Vicente Tomazar, Olongapo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (OCDRRM) Officer Angelito Layug and Assistant OCDRRM Officer Glenly Monje, OCDRRM Operations and Training Chief Jeffrey Lapid, Research and Planning Division Chief Irvin Paras and Assistant Chief Robin Carlo Elepongga, Metro Manila and Development Training Officer Ryan Castaneda and FO1 Odeza Parcenet Timoteo of Bureau of Fire Protection Region 3.
