CITY OF MALOLOS—More than 300, 000 Bulakenyos living in far-flung barangays of Angat, Norzagaray and Doña Remedios Trinidad (DRT) will have better access to medical services that will be provided by a soon to be opened district hospital located at Barangay Sta. Cruz, Angat, Bulacan.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that there is a huge need to build a hospital in that mountainous part of the province since there is no existing hospital in the towns of Angat and DRT while there are only two but private hospitals in Norzagaray.

“Aside from the distance, most of the residents here could not afford the services from private hospitals. Cheaper and quality medical services are needed to be extended to our fellow Bulakenyos here,” said Alvarado.

He added that the 1,590 square meters lot for the hospital building is highly accessible since Angat is geographically located between the towns of DRT and Norzagaray and can be reached via public vehicles such as tricycle, jeepney, and even buses from various destinations in Angat and nearby towns.

“We would like Angat Hospital to comply with the personnel services requirements of the DOH for 20-bed capacity hospital. Initially, there will also be administrative staff, physicians, and nursing staff to be appointed to give services to its target clientele,” added Alvarado.

The governor said that the building construction is expected to be finished by October 2013. ###
