CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan will hold a simple yet meaningful celebration of the 435th Bulacan Foundation Day on August 15 at 7:30 A.M. in front of the provincial capitol building.

Earlier, President Benigno Aquino III declared August 15 as a special non-working day in the province of Bulacan based from The New Provincial Administrative Code of Bulacan, Chapter II, Section 14, Foundation Day and Section 27, The Provincial Legal Holidays.

The celebration will begin with a holy mass at 7:30 in the morning to be followed by a wreathe laying to Gen. Gregorio Del Pilar’s monument by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, Vice Gov. Daniel Fernando and the members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

The governor said the province took a vital role in the past while today; it is aiming to be an engine of economic growth of the country.

Based on the research conducted by the Center for Bulacan Studies, Bulacan was established as a province on August 15, 1578. ###
