Bulacan recognizes outstanding barangay

CITY OF MALOLOS – More than 600 Bulakenyos will gather as Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado awards the outstanding barangay, public officials and volunteers on Thursday morning, November 14, in this city.

The governor said that Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III will serve as the guest of honor in the annual Gawad Galing Barangay (GGB) which is the Bulacan awards program for barangay innovation and excellence.

“This program aims to acknowledge and give due recognition to the important contributions and worthy achievement of our fellow public servants in the barangay level. We also hope that this will serve as an inspiration to others to continue to mark a difference,” said Alvarado.

He added that aside from the outstanding barangay project or Gawaing Pambarangay, GGB also recognizes the most exceptional barangay captain, councilor, secretary, treasurer, Lingkod Lingap sa Nayon, Barangay Health Worker, Barangay Training and Employment Coordinator, Mother Leader, Barangay Tanod and volunteer group.

The winner for the Gawaing Pambarangay will receive P200, 000, while the outstanding barangay captain will get P50, 000; the barangay councilor, secretary, treasurer and volunteers will get P20, 000 each. The best volunteer group will receive P 50, 000. ###
