CITY OF MALOLOS— Emphasizing the relevant role that barangay officials carry out in the government, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado led their oath taking ceremony at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium yesterday, Nov. 30.

“Bukod sa nakagisnang gampanin ng pamahalaang barangay, kayo ang tinaguriang front liner of the battlefield every time, all the time.
Alvarado also stressed the importance of careful planning to attain progress in their respective communities.

Further, Alvarado encouraged the local officials to focus on essential matters rather than to worry about personal gains.

He also urged the local officials to include the climate change adaption and risk reduction management in their development plans for the next three years.

The oath taking ceremony was divided into two parts wherein local officials from the third, fourth and lone districts which are composed of 292 barangay captains and 2,044 barangay councilors took their oath in the morning while the local officials from the first and second districts with 277 barangay captains and 1, 939 councilors had their oath in the afternoon. ###
