Bulacan lines up various activities for Fire Prevention Month

CITY OF MALOLOS— The Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office has already lined up various activities in line with the celebration of the National Fire Prevention Month this March.

With the theme: “Isulong ang Kaunlaran, Sunog ay Iwasan, Kaalaman at Pag-iingat ang Kailangan”, part of its continuous effort is to increase public awareness and encourage a proactive approach to fire safety.

According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, among the highlights of the said celebration are the motorcade and a fire awareness run to be held on March 1 in this city. Also, the PDDRMO staff will distribute flyers and leaflets during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at the Capitol Gym on March 3.

A raffle draw of Ang Bote Mo, Kaligtasan ko, a successful project of PDRRMO will also be held wherein rescue tools/equipment for different rescue teams will be given.

The continuous distribution of paracord and light stick and hanging of tarpaulins will also be held as part of their information drive as well as the building inspection in the Capitol edifices, different municipalities and private establishments with the help of OPFM/Malolos Bureau of Fire Protection.

On the second week of March, a Bulacan Rescue staff will do a lecture and demo or a 20-min fire talk on Fire Suppression and the right way of using the fire extinguisher for the Capitol employees.

On March 13-14, there will be a training/seminar for all the LGUs/NGO response teams of Bulacan about fire suppression and First Aid/BLS-CPR while a bloodletting activity will be conducted on March 18.

Further, a fire earthquake orientation drill will be conducted at Marcelo H. Del Pilar High School in Brgy. Sta. Isabel on March 21 plus three establishments who will request to conduct the same drill in their buildings.

It will also feature Aero Marathon, PDRRMO’s new activity on March 28 wherein participating individuals can register and claim a raffle ticket by submitting two 1.5 litre plastic bottles.
