CITY OF MALOLOS – Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. Del Rosario was conferred the Tanging Dangal Award in this year’s Gawad Dangal ng Lipi held last night, September 15, 2014 at the The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.

According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, the Dangal ng Lipi is a truthful way to appreciate and recognize the contributions of Bulakenyos who are worthy of their government’s recognition.

“Ang buhay at pamumuhay nila ay kinakitaan ng malaking pagmamahal at pagmamalasakit sa kapwa na maghahanay sa kanila sa piling ng mga bayani ng lahing kayumanggi at liping katagalugan,” Alvarado said.

Del Rosario received the highest recognition that can be awarded to a Bulakenyo for his invaluable contributions in different realms wherein he lived his life with bravery and intelligence which he inherited from the bloodline of Gregorio Del Pilar and other founders of the Malolos Congress.

Popularly known as the Philippine Ambassador to the United States, Del Rosario has been the national symbol of excellence, serving and enduring legacy for foreign affairs in order to benefit Filipino abroad.

Recently, he sacrificed his life and personally attended the repatriation of more than 20,000 Filipinos in Libya.

Moreover, he was instrumental in securing billions of funds from the US funding assistance for the Philippines.

Meanwhile, other recipients of Gawad Dangal ng Lipi include Ravenal R. Quizon for Agriculture (San Ildefonso); Dr. Alejandro S. Cruz for Education (Baliwag); Mark Anthony A. Carpio for Arts and Culture (Angat); Julian B. Lobigas, Jr. for Sports (City of Malolos); Ma. Teresa S. Rodriguez for Entrepreneur (Baliwag); Alfredo M. Yao for Trade and Industry (Calumpit); Judge Natividad G. Dizon for Public Service (Baliwag); Dr. Cristino l. Francisco for Community Service (Hagonoy); Consul Gen. Senen T. Mangalile for Bulakenyo Expatriate (City of Malolos); Justice Bienvenido L. Reyes for Professional (Obando) and Dr. Jose Rhoel C. de Leon for Health (Hagonoy).###
