CITY OF MALOLOS – The province of Bulacan has proven once again that its people are filled with intelligence and skills as Bulacan Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Elizabeth L. Alonzo was hailed as one of the recipients of the Most Outstanding People Manager for the public sector conferred by People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) held at Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City last September 18, 2014.

Along with Civil Service Commission Chairman Francisco T. Duque III and Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, Alonso was recognized in the career service category for ensuring timely and efficient delivery of employment service and provision of information to the people.

Being the present president of PMAP Bulacan Chapter and the department head of the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office, Alonzo was honored because of her competence in managing people in her 36 years of public service. She has served five governors of the province since then.

“This award truly validates all our hardwork, perseverance and commitment to be trustworthy government employees, selfless individuals and excellent servants of God,” Alonzo said.

The winners were selected through a very strict search and selection process conducted by the screening and selection committee of PMAP Awards headed by Executive Director Rene Gener.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado congratulated Alonso for her hardwork and efforts as the Provincial PESO Manager and said that her recognition is a valid proof of her competence as a public servant.

Moreover, the Career Guidance Seminar of the Bulacan PESO was also awarded as the People Program of the Year in public sector for addressing the problem of mismatch of educational qualifications and employment.

PMAP is the premier organization of HR Professionals and People Managers that helps institutions mold an enlightened, competent, socially responsible and influential sector of people managers who can effectively participate in nation-building. ###
