Bulacan recognizes the cleanest barangays

CITY OF MALOLOS – Fifty four barangays in the 21 towns and three cities in the province stood out and were recognized as the cleanest and greenest communities in the Kalinisan at Kaayusan ng Kapaligiran sa Barangay (KKK) awarding ceremony held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium this morning.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said the program is part of his Seven Point Agenda that aims to protect the environment and maintain and ensure the cleanliness and orderliness in the community.

Winners from District I were Brgy. San Nicolas (2nd) and Brgy. Balubad (1st) from Bulakan; Brgy. Bugion (3rd), Brgy. Sergio Bayan (2nd) and Santa Lucia (1st) from Calumpit; Brgy. Iba (1st) from Hagonoy; Brgy. Tibag (1st) from Pulilan; Brgy. San Jose (1st) from Paombong; and Brgy. Matimbo (4th), Brgy. San Pablo (3rd), Brgy.Taal (2nd) and Brgy. Bagong Bayan (1st) from the City of Malolos.

District II winners include Brgy. Barangca (2nd) and Brgy. Piel (1st) from Baliwag; Brgy. Taal (2nd) and Brgy. Tambubong (1st) from Bocaue; Brgy. Bonga Mayor (1st) from Bustos; Brgy. Siling Matanda (1st) from Pandi; Brgy. Bulihan (2nd) and Brgy. Dampol (1st) from Plaridel; and Brgy. Malis (2nd) and Brgy. Tuktukan (1st) from Guiguinto.

Winners from District III were Brgy.Sta Catalina (5th), Brgy. Bubulong Malaki (4th), Brgy. Matimbubong (3rd), Brgy. Upig (2nd) and Brgy. Basuit (1st) from San Ildefonso; Brgy. Sta Cruz (2nd) and Brgy. Sulucan (1st) from Angat; Brgy. Bayabas (1st) from DRT; Brgy. Partida (1st) from Norzagaray; Brgy. Pantubig (4th), Brgy. Ulingao (3rd), Brgy. Mabalas-balas (2nd) and Brgy. Tambubong (1st) from San Rafael; and Brgy. Camias (5th), Brgy. Sta. Rita Matanda (4th), Brgy. Bulualto (3rd), Brgy. Sta. Rita Bata (2nd) and Brgy. Sta. Ines (1st) from San Miguel.

Meanwhile, District IV winners include Brgy. Panghulo (1st) from Obando; Brgy. Bancal (3rd), Brgy. Longos (2nd) and Brgy. Lawa (1st) from Meycauayan; Brgy. San Rafael IV (4th), Brgy. Francisco Homes-Yakal (3rd), Brgy.Ciudad Real (2nd) and Brgy. Minuyan I (1st) from San Jose Del Monte City; Brgy. San Gabriel (3rd), Brgy. Mahabang Parang (2nd) and Brgy. Sto.Tomas (1st) from Sta. Maria; and Brgy. Loma De Gato (3rd), Brgy. Saog (2nd) and Brgy. Ibayo (1st) from Marilao.

Winners received a plaque of recognition each and cash incentive worth P20,000 and material aid worth P100,000 for the first prize; P15,000 and material aid worth P75,000 for the second prize; and P10,000 and material aid worth P50,000 for the third up to the eight prize depending on the total number of entry per each town or city.

Provincial Administrator Eugenio Payongayong, head of the Provincial KKK Task Force, said all winners garnered a grade of 85% and above and were chosen based on the criteria of 50% for cleanliness (Kalinisan) and 50% for orderliness (Kaayusan).

Moreover, Alvarado congratulated the winners and hoped that they will continue to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness in their community which is one of the elements of a sustainable community.

“Malugod kong binabati ang mga nagsipagwagi na nagpakita ng kanilang inisyatibo na panatilihing malinis at pangalagaan ang kanilang mga barangay at inaasahan ko na patuloy kayong makikiisa at makikibahagi sa mga programa ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan sa pangangalaga sa kalikasan,” the governor ended. ###
