CITY OF MALOLOS – The Department of Interior and Local Government and the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) recognized outstanding pacification committees in Bulacan for effectively doing their jobs to achieve extrajudicial settlement of minor cases in barangays held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium, Monday morning.

Barangay Abangan Sur, Marilao and Barangay Bagong Bayan, City of Malolos were hailed as the Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa for the 1st to 3rd Class Municipality Category and City Category respectively. They both received plaque of recognition and P30,000 cash incentive.

Moreover, Barangay Wawa, Balagtas was awarded 1st runner up and took home P20, 000 while Barangay Tabang, Plaridel as the 2nd runner up received P10, 000 cash incentive for the 1st to 3rd Class Municipality Category. Barangay Kaypian, City of San Jose del Monte was also awarded 1st runner up and received P20,000 cash for the City Category.

Prizes received can be used in barangay justice programs and projects.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado expressed his gratitude to the people who are exerting efforts to maintain order and peace in every barangay in the province.

According to the DILG, LTIA was established through Executive Order 394 s. 1997. It is a system that aims to strengthen the implementation of barangay justice, which is one way of reducing the load of the lower courts and to recognize the efforts of the said committee in extraordinarily performing their duties.

In addition, the awardees were chosen based on efficiency in operations, effectiveness in securing the barangay justice objectives and creativity and resourcefulness of the Lupong Tagapamayapa.
