CITY OF MALOLOS – In line with the celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2016, the Boy/Girl Officials from different schools in Bulacan will have the opportunity to learn and be prepared to embrace public service as they immerse in the Provincial Government of Bulacan beginning today.

Immediately after the flag ceremony held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city where the 62 counterparts of provincial officials and department heads took their oath, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado appealed to let the youth be accommodated and make their five-day stay worthwhile.

“Matutunan nawa natin na ang paglilingkod ay gagamitin natin una para sa ating Panginoon at pangalawa sa kapwa. Alam ko na ang mga pagsisikap ng mga namumuno sa pamahalaan will not be in vain, sapagkat mayroon tayong mga mahuhusay na kabataan,” Alvarado said.

The governor added that the opportunity given to the youth to adapt to the world of public service will help the province produce more good future leaders.

Girl Governor Romina Trinidad from Carlos F. Gonzales High School in San Rafael expressed her gratitude on behalf of the entire boy/girl official counterparts for having the opportunity to serve their fellow Bulakenyos.

“Ang paglingkuran ang kapwa mamamayan ay isang napakalaking prebilehiyo, at taos puso po naming tinatanggap ang pagiging isang opisyal ng Bulacan, sa gabay ng Panginoon at ng mga taong nakapaligid sa amin, asahan po ninyo na gagawin namin ang lahat ng aming makakaya upang matutuo at mapaglingkuran ang mga Bulakenyo at ang magiting nating lalawigan kahit sa sandaling panahon,” Trinidad said.

Moreover, Joyce Ann DP. Vitug from PBC Sunbeam School in Plaridel was elected to be the counterpart of Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando.

The observation of Linggo ng Kabataan is pursuant to Republic Act No. 10742, An Act Establishing Reforms in the Sangguniang Kabataan Creating Enabling Mechanisms for Meaningful Youth Participation in Nation-Building, and for Other Purposes.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office gave rescue tools and equipment as aid to some rescue teams in Bulacan and first aid kits and rescue tools to PGB employees who supported the “Bote Mo Kaligtasan Ko Buong Taon na Ito 2016”.

The PGB also recognized the Batang Pinoy 2016 Bulakenyo winners including four gold medals and one silver for Taekwondo, one gold for athletics, two bronze medals for badminton doubles and one silver for badminton singles, and the Soft Ball team for winning first runner up in the Batang Pinoy National Championship games held last November 26 to December 2 in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
