CITY OF MALOLOS- In a bid to prevent the widespread of common summer diseases, the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Health Office-Public Health (PHO-PH) gives the Bulakenyos a heads up by disseminating informative materials in different provincial hospitals.

According to PHO-PH Head Dr. Jocelyn Gomez, the most common ( ‘6S’) summer diseases include Sore eyes, Sunburn and heat stroke, Sipon at ubo (cold and cough), Suka at tae (vomiting and diarrhea), Sakit sa balat (skin disease) and Sakmal ng aso (dog bite).

She added that Bulakenyos should practice good personal hygiene through proper hand washing; cover nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing; be careful on buying foods outside of our home and observe proper food preparations, avoiding cross contamination so as not to cause food intoxication and food poisoning. If you feel unusual conditions and signs and symptoms of a disease , immediately consult a doctor for treatment and prevention.

Boost immune system by practicing healthy lifestyle, eating nutritious foods, having enough sleep, and drinking eight to 12 glasses of potable water everyday; and be watchful when swimming in public or private pools as the water pool could be contaminated by other pool users.

Also, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado underscores the importance of having a good health.
