Pulilan's float wins in Parada ng Karosa

CITY OF MALOLOS - Depicting the famous 'Kneeling Carabao Festival', the float of Pulilan bagged the first place in the float competition dubbed as "Parada ng Karosa 2017" yesterday that started from the Barasoain Church and ended at the Provincial Capitol Compound in this city.
The Kneeling Carabao Festival is celebrated every 14th of May that honors the hardworking carabao, the country’s national animal, and to pay tribute and show gratitude to San Isidro Labrador, their patron saint, for a year-long of bountiful harvest.
City of San Jose del Monte’s float with the theme ‘The Rising City’ landed second wherein their float showcased the MRT 7 which is now in the planning stage of construction that symbolizes progress and their 'Tanglawan Festival' which symbolizes the light that will guide the San Joseños into the great future ahead that is celebrated every September 3-10.
Landing on the third spot, the City of Meycauayan proudly paraded their float that showcased their famous products, leather and jewelries, thus making their city the ‘hub of jewelry production’ in the Philippines and in Asia.
The winners took home P100,000 for the first place, P70,000 for the second place and P30,000 for the third place and certificate of participation for all the participants.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said the float competition is one way to encourage more municipalities to promote their products, tourist destinations, as well as their arts and culture and also encourage the citizens to support local products.
