CITY OF MALOLOS - Relating to the famous quote of Dr. Jose Rizal about the youth being the hope of the nation, Senator Joseph Victor ‘JV’ Ejercito said during the Gintong Kabataan Awarding Ceremony held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city, Friday afternoon that the Bulakenyo youth are reliable.

“Kabataang Bulakenyo, kayo ay maaasahan. Huwag tayong manatiling pag-asa lamang. Kailangan nating makilahok, makialam, makibahagi sa nangyayari sa ating bansa, kahit na maliit na bagay. Being a youth should not be an excuse not to do anything. Sa inyong mga awardee ngayong araw, may this be an inspiration to you and to all the youths to do even better,” Ejercito said.

The senator congratulated all the GK awardees but specifically mentioned the heroism of Rommel T. Ramos, the Gintong Kabataang Bayani awardee who despite of his being an ordinary individual, was called ‘Super Kuya’ for carrying his brother with cerebral palsy every day to school while his father is away, working and digging garbage.

Meanwhile, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado expressed his gratitude and congratulations to all the awardees who dreamt to be better because making their lives better is equivalent to making a better Bulacan.

“Kayong mga kabataang tumugon sa panawagan, na hindi naging bato sa pangangailangan ng iba, binabati ko kayo at buong pusong pinasasalamatan. Nawa’y magsilbi kayong patuloy na patotoo na may magagawa ang kahit na sino para sa bayan,” Alvarado said.

Other GK awardees were Abigail Dionisio from Paombong-Gintong Kabataan sa Larangan ng Sining at Kultura (Sining Biswal), Jan Rommel “Jak” Roberto from Pulilan-Gintong Kabataan sa Larangan ng Sining at Kultura (Sining sa Larangan ng Pagganap), Christian “Tristan” Ramirez from Pandi-Gintong Kabataan sa Larangan ng Sining at Kultura (Sining sa Larangan ng Pag-awit), Monette Lumague from Plaridel-Gintong Kabataan sa Kagalingang Pang-Akademya at Agham (Sekondarya), Justin Paul Mendoza from Bocaue-Gintong Kabataan sa Kagalingang Pang-Akademya at Agham (Kolehiyo), Frankie Joe Sionson from the City of Malolos-Gintong Kabataang Entreprenyur, Ronalyn B. Pordan from the city of San Jose del Monte-Gintong Kabataan sa Larangan ng Paglilingkod sa Pamayanan, Dr. Keno Piad from the City of Malolos-Gintong Kabataang Manggagawa (Professional Worker), Coun. Erlene Luz Dela Cruz from Baliwag-Gintong Kabataang Manggagawa (Government Worker), Alexander Gonzales from Guiguinto-Gintong Kabataang Manggagawa (Skilled Worker), Jack Danielle Animam from the City of Malolos-Gintong Kabataan sa Larangan ng Isports and Cong. Jose Antonio “Kuya Jonathan” R. Sy-Alvarado from Calumpit-Natatanging Gintong Kabataan, the highest recognition given to a Bulakenyo youth.

Being the recipient of the Natatanging Gintong Kabataan award, Cong. Alvarado delivered the response on behalf of all the awardees.

“Sa lahat ng kabataang sumusunod sa magulang, sa lahat ng kabataang nangangarap ng magandang kinabukasan, hati-hati po tayo sa award na ito, at kung sumasama po kayo at nakikihati sa pag-angkin ng parangal na ito, sana po kasama ko rin kayo sa paglaban sa lahat ng hamon na kailangan nating harapin para sa bayan,” Cong. Sy-Alvarado said.
