CITY OF MALOLOS- Officials from Taipei Economics and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines donated 100 wheelchairs to the Provincial Government of Bulacan to be distributed to beneficiaries in need from the province.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, Vice Gov. Daniel Fernando, Ambassador Donald Lee of TECO and Mr. Wayne Chi, President, Taiwan Association of the Philippines led the distribution of the first 50 wheelchairs to pre-identified recipients who have undergone the evaluation initiated by PSWDO. The remaining 50 will be distributed in the coming days.

Ambassador Lee said these wheelchairs will go a long way in changing the lives of the beneficiaries, just like its wheels that continuously move forward.

“It is well evident that we consistently care for the welfare of the province of Bulacan,” he added.

Alvarado, on the other hand, looked back to the roots of the friendship between Taiwan and Bulacan and said that this friendly gesture is a milestone in keeping a valuable friend.

“Ang mga ipinagkaloob na wheelchair ay upang maipakita na rin sa ating mga kababayan na tatanggap nito ang kagandahan ng buhay, upang kahit paano’y makatulong sa kanilang pang-araw-araw na gawain,” he said.

Meanwhile, Arlene Pascual, head of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, toured the guests around the province through a presentation entitled “A Glimpse of Bulacan“ that shows the rich culture, heritage and resources in the province, thus encouraging them to invest here.

Both parties look forward to continue strengthening the ties for the benefit of their constituents and a better future ahead. ###
