Kapitolyo sa Barangay launched in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS- In a bid to bring the services of the Provincial Government closer to every Bulakeño, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado led the launching of Kapitolyo sa Barangay in Barangay Bangkal in this city recently.

A pool of officials and employees joined the Governor in the launch of this project that will eventually lead to a regular community visit.

According to Alvarado, the said program aims to personally interact with Bulakeños twice a week in their most convenient place, the barangay. He added that this will help government officials observe and validate the problems confronting each barangay and in return, the government endeavor to provide solutions.

For their first visit, the PGB team conducted medical and dental mission, anti rabies vaccination and anti-kuto program. Also, they distributed medicines, five wheelchairs, 10 nebulizers, and Philhealth application forms.

Engr. Nestor Hernandez, OIC of the Provincial Engineer’s Office made their team available for infrastructure request s while Elizabeth Alonzo, head of Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts and Culture Office, responded to employment inquiries.

Kapitolyo sa Barangay also provided free massage and haircut services, and a feeding session in two daycare centers where 77 children enjoyed the nutritious meal.

Meanwhile, Alvarado appealed for the support of the barangay folks to help maintain and protect the environment by cleaning their areas.

“Maglinis po tayo ng ating kapalilgiran, magtanim ng halaman, maglinis ng ating kailugan at ng sapa at ng sa gayon makita po natin ang isang maaliwalas na pamahalaan na kapaligiran, at magkakaroon po tayo ng katahimikan, at ng kaunlaran,” Alvarado said.

According to the Provincial Administrator’s Office, Kapitolyo sa Barangay will subsequently visit Northville in Calumpit. ###
