CITY OF MALOLOS- The Provincial Government of Bulacan gained global recognition after being included in the Top 5 of FutureGov Awards 2010 for Business Process Category held at Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia recently.
According to Engr. Rhea Liza Ramos, head of the Provincial Information Technology Office, the province entered the Financial Management Information System in the said competition where it proved to be an efficient system for the integration of functions of three financial offices: Budget, Accounting, and Assessment and Treasury.
Ramos further cited that the province bested other 869 IT innovation entries from various Asia Pacific countries.
Meanwhile, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said this recognition is an indication of the continuous efforts of the Provincial Government to create and adopt IT innovations that are at par with international standards.
Prior to this, Bulacan also made it in the Top 5 of last year’s competition with the Bulacan Hospitals Information System as the official entry in the Data Centre Category.
The FutureGov Awards is an international benchmark by which public sectors including government, education and healthcare organizations in Asia Pacific and Gulf States are recognized for their outstanding information technology innovations and projects. ###
