Bulacan hosts 3rd RDC summit

CITY OF MALOLOS- More than 100 council members gather in Bulacan as Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado , chairman of the Sectoral Committee on Infrastructure Development (SCID) of the Regional Development Council (RDC), hosts the 3rd full council meeting at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city, today.

Aside from the development report of the provinces in the region, infrastructure, social, economic and other issues will also be discussed in the meeting.

“As the chairman of the SCID, we will perform our function assigned by the Council particularly in the infrastructure sector and ensure that the sectoral plans and programs of local governments are integrated to the regional sectoral plans and programs,” said Gov. Alvarado.

Among the governors who will be present in the event are Aurora Gov. Bellaflor Castillo, Zambales Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane, Bataan Gov. Enrique Garcia, Pampanga Gov. Lilia Pineda, Nueva Ecija Gov. Aurelio Umali and Tarlac Gov. Victor Yap.

The RDC Central Luzon, headed by San Fernando, Pampanga Mayor Oscar Rodriquez, is the primary institution which shall set the direction of economic and social development of the region and through which regional development efforts shall be coordinated.

The Council is composed of all provincial governors, city mayors, presidents of the provincial leagues of municipalities, regional directors of national government agencies, and representatives from the private sector in the region. ###
