Bulacan successfully hosted 3rd RDC summit

CITY OF MALOLOS- Regional Development Council (RDC) members commend Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, chairman of the Sectoral Committee on Infrastructure Development (SCID), for successfully hosting the 3rd full council meeting at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city, recently.

“Once again we are gathered together with the dream that we want to pursue for region 3 where in, in the next couple of years we will be able to reach the highest level of economic, infrastructural, social and political development for our people,” said Gov. Alvarado.

Among the governors who are present in the event are Aurora Gov. Bellaflor Castillo, Zambales Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane, Bataan Gov. Enrique Garcia, and Tarlac Gov. Victor Yap.

Several resolutions had been approved concerning economic development, development administration, social development, infrastructure development, and waste management.

Also in the said meeting, Gov. Alvarado requested to rehabilitate the dilapidated lighthouses in the island villages of Bgy. Pugad, Hagonoy and Bgy. San. Roque, Paombong which are both located at the mouth of Manila bay.

City of San Fernando , Pampanga Mayor Oscar Rodriguez, Central Luzon RDC chairman, said that upon learning of the Bulacan governor’s project, Gov. Tet Garcia of Bataan and Gov. Lilia Pineda also suggested that the lighthouses in their provinces also be rehabilitated.

Rodriguez and Central Luzon RDC-co chairman Dr. Jojo Ramirez said the council unanimously approved the said projects.

“As the chairman of the SCID, we will perform our function assigned by the Council particularly in the infrastructure sector and ensure that the sectoral plans and programs of local governments are integrated to the regional sectoral plans and programs,” said Gov. Alvarado.

The RDC is the primary institution in Central Luzon which shall set the direction of economic and social development of the region and through which regional development efforts shall be coordinated.

The Council is composed of all provincial governors, city mayors, presidents of the provincial leagues of municipalities, regional directors of national government agencies, and representatives from the private sector in the region. ###
