Bulakenyo youth uphold social change

CITY OF MALOLOS- Almost 4,000 students joined the 1st Bulacan Youth Summit with the theme “Kabataang Bukenyo: Ako ang Pagbabago” organized by the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and sponsored by Globe Telecom at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium today July 29-30.

“Investing for the future means investing in our youth, thus, we are deeply committed in making programs that will develop the skills, talents and values of our young generation. Through this summit, we aim that youth will become more aware about what is happening in their communities and encourage their participation as well,” said Gov. Alvarado.

Renowned personalities graced the event as resource speakers. Sen. Loren Legarda gave light about how the youth can take part in diminishing the effects of climate change. Also, broadcasters Pia Hontiveros, Charie Villa and Vangge Giorgetti of ABS-CBN discussed on how media can be a catalyst for social change.
Moreover, film director Brillante Mendoza will teach the participants on how to be more observant and mindful about the condition of our society.

Aside from the interesting talks, the two-day summit also includes workshops such as photography, dance and music, bartending, tech and gadgets, personality development, speech communications, and film making.

The registration fee costs P150 inclusive of free meals, a training kit, a Globe sim card and P130 worth of prepaid load.

The summit will conclude with a concert featuring the band Itchyworms which is open for all. Loading P20 in their Globe sim card served as the entry ticket to the said concert. ###
