Bulacan inmates join Singkaban Fiesta celebration

CITY OF MALOLOS-Bulacan Provincial Jail (BPJ) inmates will now have the chance to show off their wits and talents as they participate in the celebration of Singkaban Fiesta 2011.

Come September 10, 2011, families and other invited guests will be serenaded by the BPJ Choir, BPJ Chorale and BPJ Tunog Tao in a concert dubbed as “Kawili-wiling Konsiyerto para sa mga Detinado” at the BPJ Plaza.

Also, an interpretative dance of the famous “Sino ang Baliw?” song will be performed by the champions of Synchronize Dancing Competition.

The following day, September 11 at 9 o’clock in the morning, provincial detainees will showcase their dancing skills in Katutubong Sayaw to be held at the Bulacan Provincial Jail.

Open to all BPJ inmates, the said feat will focus on the Philippine traditional dances like the Itik-itik, maglalatik and tinikling.

Also on the same day, simultaneous with the Katutubong Sayaw, the detainees’ intelligence will be put into a test through BulakHenyo quiz bee wherein the mind game will evolve around the rich culture and history of the province.

Furthermore, five out of 22 local government officials’ vocal prowess will be heard as they compete for the grand finals of the Himig ng Lingkod Bulakenyo at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium on September 12, 8 o’ clock in the morning.

Aside from the local officials of the municipalities and cities of Bulacan, the said singing competition will also be participated by the Regional Trial Court (RTC), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Philippine National Police (PNP). ###
