CITY OF MALOLOS–No more extra charges for phone calls from Globe landline to any Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT), Digitel or BayanTel landline and vice versa as Globe Telecom and Philippine Long Distance Telephone successfully launched the local interconnection in Bulacan yesterday at the session hall of the Provincial Government.

According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, the local interconnection of the two telecom will bring more opportunities and lesser financial costs for Bulakeños.

“Through this, we will be making Bulacan closer to the people, at makasisigurado kayo sa effective, efficient at affordable na pakikipag-communicate,” said Region III National Telecommunications Regional Director Azor Sitchon.
Moreover, NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordova explained the benefits of the said interconnection.

“Yung dating long distance call na tawag from Globe landline to PLDT or vice versa, ngayon magiging local call na, so mas magiging mura na plus it will attract business.

Atty. Froilan Castelo, Head for Corporate and Legal Services Group of Globe added, “malaking bagay ang proyektong ito para sa investment at karagdagang empleyo sa lalawigan ng Bulacan.”
The fast implementation of the said interconnection services was made possible through the certified Resolution 2011-04 that aims to fast track the implementation of the interconnection services among major telecommunication operators in the province.
According to Board Member and Transportation and Communication Committe Chair Atty.

Bulacan is the third area where Globe has completed its local interconnection services with PLDT, next to Davao city and the province of Pampanga. ###
