Bulacan media to compete in Larong Pinoy, Laro ng Lahi

CITY OF MALOLOS — Some 200 media practitioners in Bulacan will show their wits and athletic skills as they compete today in the annual Bulacan Media Sportsfest with this year’s theme “Larong Pinoy, Laro ng Lahi” at the Capitol Gymnasium here.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the annual media sports event organized by the Provincial Public Affairs Office aims to foster camaraderie and promote the spirit of sportsmanship among media practitioners in Bulacan.

He said that this year’s event aims to resurrect Filipino games like “patintero”, “tumbang preso”, “luksong tinik”, “piko” and that there will also be games that will test their mind’s abilities.

PPAO chief Maricel Santos-Cruz said that 11 media organizations in Bulacan will join in the sports competition sponsored by San Miguel Brewery, San Miguel Pure Foods and SM City-Baliwag.

Cruz said winners will get trophies, medals, cash prizes and other freebies.

Gov. Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel Fernando are expected to grace the event, she added.

The participating press organizations are the Bulacan Press Club, Bulacan Capitol Press Corps-Bulacan PNP Press Corps, Bulacan Media Investigative Reporters, Central Luzon Media Association, Bulacan Press Corps, Bulacan Media Bureau, Bulacan Media Association, Bulacan Environmental Agrarian Reform Journalists, CMT Media Action Force Investigation Alliance and the Pagkakaisa ng mga Mamamahayag sa Bulacan or PUNLA. ###
