Bulacan remains undefeatable in CLRAA 2012

CITY OF MALOLOS- Bulacan delegation was hailed overall champion for the 13th time during the recently concluded Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) meet held in Zambales Sports Complex.

After a week of tough competition that started on February 19-24, 2012, Bulakenyo athletes were able to prove that they were undefeatable after grabbing 499.7 points.

Second to Bulacan is Pampanga who got 358 points while Olongapo City with 247.91, Bataan got 237.25 and Angeles City with 224, which composed the top five.

Besting most of the sports events, the 399 Bulakenyo athletes from elementary and secondary level outplayed its competitions in various events such as archery, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, chess, football, gymnastics, lawn tennis, sipa, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and volleyball.

The winners received a trophy and a medal each.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado lauded the efforts of the Bulacan delegation for its victory as well as the other athletes from Region III who played their best during the competition.

“Labis po ang aking kagalakan sa pagkakapanalong muli ng mga atletang Bulakenyo. Sana po ang mga ganitong gawain ay magsilbing matibay na bigkis na magbubuklod hindi lamang sa mga Bulakenyo kundi maging sa mga kababayan natin sa Gitnang Luzon,” Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said.

All of the outstanding athletes who took the first place in their respective sports event will represent the region in the Palarong Pambansa to be held in Lingayen, Pangasinan in May. ###
