Bulacan Garden goes to CCP

CITY OF MALOLOS – As one of the known advocates of Clean and Green Environment, the Provincial Government of Bulacan led by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado will stage a five-day exhibit of beautiful decorative and medicinal plants dubbed as Halamang Bulakenyo @CCP A National Garden Expo from April 18-22, 2012.

The said exhibit is part of the celebration of the Earth Day Big Event 2012 which will be held at Liwasang Kalikasan, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Pasay City wherein the Bulacan Garden Association and Bonsai Plant Groups are the ones to boast their products.

According to records, Bulacan is the prime supplier of all plants nationwide with an estimate of 80% plants supply, particularly coming from the towns of Guiguinto, Hagonoy, San Rafael, Calumpit and the cities of Malolos and San Jose Del Monte.

“Ipinagmamalaki natin hindi lamang ang mayaman nating kasaysayan kundi maging ang ating mga naggagandahang halaman na isinusupply natin sa buong bansa, kaya nga kilala ang Bulacan bilang garden capital ng Pilipinas,”said Elizabeth Alonzo, head of the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office.

Aside from promoting Bulacan as the prime producers of plants in the country, the said expo also aims to provide opportunities and exposure to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Among the guests who are expected to grace the event are national officials, CCP President Dr. Raul Sunico, Department of Tourism, local officials from Bulacan headed by Alvarado, plant enthusiasts and other tourism stakeholders. ###
