CITY OF MALOLOS- More than 500 Bulakenyos coming from various sectors will join the clean-up drive at the Marilao-Meycauayan-Obando River System (MMORS) on July 19 at 6 a.m.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado together with other government officials, Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Air Force Reservists and other non-government organizations will patrol around the river system while announcing to the public the strict implementation of laws protecting the MMORS.

“This activity is part of our long-term solution to erase the bad image that is associated with our MMORS. We are serious in making our vision a realization, and with the help of other government agencies and the citizens as well, I am positive that we can be successful in this project,”said Alvarado.

Provincial Administrator Jim Valerio said that there will also be a short program that will be held at Barangay Saog, Marilao where the signing of the implementing rules and regulations of the No Plastic Ordinance will be done.

He also suggested that registration of the boats being used in each municipality should be done to make it easier to trace the culprits if any violations happen, and the installation of station limit of rivers to determine which LGU is in-charge to clean and monitor their respective areas. ###
