CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan will conduct free medical services on November 18, 2012, from six o’ clock in the morning until 12 noon at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.
Through the effort of Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado in partnership with the Bulacan Medical Society and Philippine Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (PSEM), at least 400 individuals who are at risks with diabetes will benefit in the activity which includes blood sugar and lipid screening for the prevention and control of diabetes.
According to Alvarado, this medical mission is part of the celebration of World Diabetes Day with the theme "Protect Our Future," will also hold a cooking demo and forum about proper nutritional diet for diabetic patients and will distribute 24 glucometers for Diabetic Club members in Bulacan.
“Kailangang i-ayos ang lifestyle at magkaroon ng regular na ehersisyo upang maiwasan ang stress at iba pang maaaring maging sanhi ng sakit na diabetes,” he added.
Diabetes happens when there is too much glucose in the blood that if not diagnosed and treated can cause serious long-term consequences. Other signs of diabetes are weakness, fatique, unquenchable thirst and frequent urination. ###
