CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulakenyos will gather in front of the provincial capitol to witness the lighting of the huge Singkaban Christmas tree to be led by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado on December 7, 2012, Friday, at 6:00 in the evening, which signifies the start of Christmas celebration in the province of Bulacan.

Standing at 55 feet, the gigantic Christmas tree is made of meticulously carved bamboo or singkaban, adorned with colorful decors like Christmas balls, lights and flowers.

Aside from the annual traditional Christmas tree lighting, Bulakenyos will also witness the flying of Christmas lanterns to add color and glow to the festivity.

Prior to this, the first part of the program will showcase the concert of the Hiyas ng Bulacan Brass Band where they will be playing several Christmas carols.

Also, a Christmas Bazaar will run until December 31 in front of the Gat Blas F. Ople Building, Capitol Compund, in this city.

Meanwhile, Alvarado encourages all the Bulakenyos to help one another and share the joy and inspiration that the Christmas season brings.
