Bulacan to hold Sayaw Pinoy dance concert

CITY OF MALOLOS- In line with the celebration of the 22nd National Arts Month, the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PYSEACTO) will hold a touring dance concert dubbed as Sayaw Pinoy @ Bulacan 2013 on February 1, 2013 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that this is a great opportunity for Bulakeños to show their talents and promote the tourism of Bulacan.

“As Bulakenyos, we are very proud of our rich cultural heritage, we are here to celebrate it through dance. We are also encouraging this young generation to show off their talents and at the same time to keep in mind the lessons and learning that are embedded on our folk dances,” said Alvarado.

Elizabeth Alonzo, head of the PYSEACTO said that Bulakeños will be able to see different form of dances such as folk, ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, ballroom and contemporary.

Meanwhile, invited performers who will showcase their talents include nationally acclaimed dancers like the Halili-Cruz Ballet Company, Next 2 Innocence, Sinukwan Kapampangan and other local dancers including Sining Bulakenyo, BulSu Ballroom Dance Company, Iba National High School Dance Troupe and WIKA.

Also, the National Committee on Dance Chair Shirley Halili-Cruz is expected to grace the event.

Sayaw Pinoy is a program of the National Commission of Culture and the Arts (NCAA). ###
