Bulacan bags seven recognitions for health programs in 2012

CITY OF MALOLOS—The province of Bulacan headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado swept many awards in the recently held Central Luzon Excellence Award for Health 2012 at the Holiday Inn, Clarkfield, Pampanga.
The Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Health Office received the award for
Health Emergency Response in the Health Governance Stewards Category.
According to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Jocelyn Gomez, Bulacan was recognized for its outstanding performance on health programs and health emergency response during Habagat and typhoon Gener.
Also under the same category, Calumpit District Hospital won for Mother and Baby Friendly Hospital and Bustos Rural Health Unit (RHU) 1 and Pulilan RHU 1 for Three-in-one Certified Facilities.
Four municipalities and one city had its share of awards in the Top Performers Category that includes Sta. Cruz Hospital in Calumpit for Newborn Screening Program; Municipal Health Office of Pulilan for Expanded Program on Immunization; Municipality of Angat and City of San Jose Del Monte for Family Planning Program and Municipality of Bulakan and San Jose Bulakan Day Care for Oral Health Program.
Winners received plaque of recognition and trip incentives given by the Department of Health Region 3 in recognition of government offices, hospitals and local government units implementing health programs and emergency responses.
Alvarado lauded the awardees for they have demonstrated hard work, commitment and excellence in their respective organizations. ###
