83 jobseekers hired in Trabaho para sa Bulakenyo job fair

GET HIRED. More than one thousand Bulakeños take the chance to apply for jobs in the hope of being hired in any of the 44 local and 12 overseas companies that joined the Trabaho Para sa Bulakenyo Job Fair, a program of the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium yesterday. CITY OF MALOLOS – A total of 83 jobseekers were hired on-the-spot in the job fair conducted by the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) yesterday at the Capitol Gymnasium in this city.

Some 44 local and 12 overseas companies opened its doors with employment opportunities for Bulakenyos while more than 1,000 job hopefuls mostly graduating and fresh graduates participated in the one-day job fair dubbed as Trabaho para sa Bulakenyo.

According to the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office, participating companies offered almost 5,755 job openings from managerial positions to service staff to fill the manpower needs in various industries like finance, health, education, construction or engineering and different fields such as Business Processing Outsourcing, Information Technology, Legal, Medical Technical Support and many more.

Flor Tamayo, head of Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) division said other selected applicants or seemingly appropriate candidates will be subject for screening, evaluation and dozens of interviewing procedure.

Alvarado lauded the DOLE’s response to the request for employment assistance and the way it fast tracked the meeting of jobseekers and employers.

PYSEACTO on the other hand is set to launch this year in the province the search for 2013 Bulacan’s Best PESO.

Last year, Bulacan was awarded as the Outstanding Local Government Unit (LGU) and Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) partner in Luzon for the Pre-Employment Orientation seminar, information dissemination and PAIR Help Desk .###
