Bulacan to assist the motorists via Semana Santa Lakbay Alalay

CITY OF MALOLOS- To ensure a safe and worry free travel this Lenten season, the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado will once again provide motorists’ assistance in this province from March 27 to 30, 2013.

Dubbed as Semana Santa Lakbay Alalay, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (PDDRMO) with its Bulacan Rescue Team and its local government rescue teams partners such as Assistance and Rescue through Radio communications for Emergency Situations and Traffic (ARREST), Bulacan Integrated Rescue Association (BIRA), Kabalikat Civicom – Bulacan, Rescue 117, Baliwag Assistance & Rescue Group, Inc. (BARG), Philippine Red Cross, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police and Spectrum communication will be in full alert to assist travelling motorists.

Rescue teams will be stationed in three public assistance centers from 6:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening which includes Divine Mercy National Shrine in Marilao, in front the PGB in this city and in Brgy. Kapitangan, Paombong for 24/7 due to the expected volume of local and foreign tourists that will flock the locale to witness the yearly penitents of devotees.

Bulacan Rescue Team will also be monitoring the road in the province to give public service in case of emergency and other eventualities.

The governor encourages all the travelers to pray and to not forget the true meaning of Lent and to use protection gear like helmet when travelling to avoid further fatal casualties.
