CITY OF MALOLOS – Women empowerment takes center stage during the opening program of the Five Pillars of Justice at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium this morning.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that it is very timely that the Five Pillars of Justice focuses on the rights and welfare of women since injustices are very prevalent nowadays.

“Hindi natin nais na maging kabahagi ang ating lalawigan sa mga kawalang-katarungan talamak sa lipunan sa ngayon. Panahon na upang ipanata sa ating mga sarili na hindi tayo bibitiw at panghihinaan ng loob sa pagtatayugod ng katarungan bagaman marami na ang sumuko sa paggawa nito,” the governor added.

Former Executive Judge Natividad Hiron-Dizon, chairperson of Board of Pardons and Parole, also enlightened the public with important roles that women play not only at home but also in politics, sports and other fields. She also discussed the laws protecting women on her speech as the guest speaker.

“Women are full and equal partners of men. Hindi po pwedeng 70-30, dapat 50-50,” she added.

Prosecutor Renato Samonte Jr. also added that in order for the Five Pillars to be a success, each one must accomplish his role with integrity.

“Sa lahat ng bahagi ng Five Pillars, inaasahan ang matapat na pagganap sa tungkulin dahil hindi ito magtatagumpay kung walang pagkakaisa. Tulung-tulong tayo upang maipatupad ang katarungan sa lalawigan,” he added.

The month-long celebration include activities such as seminars on RA 9262, RA 9208, RA 9344, Katarungang Pambarangay specifically execution and Rules on Inquest to be held in Santa Maria, City of San Jose Del Monte, Calumpit, Plaridel and Norzagaray on August 6, 13, 16, 20, and 23; outreach programs at the Epesus and Bahay Pangarap Women’s Center Foundation, Inc in Tabe, Guiguinto and Tahanang Mapagpala ng Immaculada Concepcion Foundation, Inc. in Bulihan, Malolos City; livelihood programs like flower arrangement, fish deboning/relyeno making, malunggay noodles and candy making to be participated by women jail inmates at the Bulacan Provincial Jail; and cycling event to be participated in by around 1,000 members of the PNP or police and cyclists on August 24.
