CITY OF MALOLOS— In a bid to help reduce the effects of malnutrition, the League of Cable TV Operators in Bulacan (LCTB) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Public Affairs Office (PPAO) headed by Ms. Maricel Santos-Cruz will conduct a feeding program at Calumpit Municipal Covered Court come October 4, 2013 at 8:00 am.

Mr. Victor de Belen, LCTB President said that the project aside from being part of their community service as an organization is also their personal concern for the younger generation in the province.

“Hindi naman malaki ang bilang ng malnutrisyon sa lalawigan, pero gusto pa rin naming makatulong doon sa konting natitira na maging nourished din. Pagkatapos sa Calumpit, susunod naman sa Bustos hanggang sa makumpleto namin ang lahat ng bayan at lungsod sa Bulacan,” de Belen added.

According to Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), approximately 0.17 percent of children aged 0-71 months are severely underweight in the province. This is equivalent to more or less 4,000 individuals.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that projects like this is a proof that a good relationship between private organizations and the government will bring good to the people.

“Makikita na iisa din naman ang hangarin natin eh, mapa-pribado man ‘yan o gobyerno, ang gusto natin makatulong, makita na malusog ang mga kalalawigan natin,” Alvarado said.

LCTB has been working hand in hand with PPAO since 2011 in promoting the provincial government’s activities through the “Galing Bulacan” TV Program, the information dissemination campaign of PPAO using the cable TV networks in Bulacan. ###
