Bulacan bags 2013 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit Award

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado holds the trophy for Bulacan after the province was hailed as the Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry in recognition for its commendable efforts in consistently advocating the promotion and development of the micro, small and medium enterprises significantly benefiting its business community and citizenry during the concluding session of the 39th Philippine Business Conference last October 22 at the Manila Hotel, City of Manila. CITY OF MALOLOS- Bulacan was awarded as the Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry during the concluding session of the 39th Philippine Business Conference last October 22 at the Manila Hotel, City of Manila.

“Ang isang katibayan na patuloy sa pag-unlad ang isang lugar ay kung kakikitaan ito ng maraming mga namumuhunan at nagnenegosyo. Sa tinanggap nating parangal pinatunayan nito na Bulacan is really welcoming when it comes to business partners at talagang masigla at buhay na buhay ang negosyo dito, kaya naman pag-igihin pa natin so that we can soar higher,” said Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado.

With the theme “What’s Good for Citizenry is Good for Business”, Cynthia Abiol, Provincial Cooperative, Economic and Development Officer explained how the province became the victor for the said category.

“Sa ilalim ng kategorya para sa mga probinsya, kinilala at pinarangalan ang Bulacan dahil sa natatangi nitong programa at gawain sa mabuti at napapanahong pamamahala upang maitaguyod, mapalaganap at mapalago ang kalakalan, negosyo, pamumuhunan sa ating lugar tulad ng innovations, streamlined and sound business licensing procedures, quality management and systems innovation at effective investment promotion activities,” Abiol said.

The LGUs that joined were assessed based on the following key areas: Trade, Investments, and Tourism Promotion, Public-Private Sector Partnership, Micro Small Medium Enterprises Development, Quality Management Systems and Innovations and Inter-Local Government Relations.###
