Boy Scout of the Philippines RD Samson lauds Bulacan Gov’s efforts on Jamboree

CITY OF MALOLOS- Boy Scout of the Philippines Regional Director Imelda Samson lauded the efforts of Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado after Bulacan had successfully hosted the five-day 11th Central Luzon Regional Scout Jamboree held at the Royal Northwoods Golf and Residential Estates in Coral na Bato, San Rafael, Bulacan last December 11-15, 2013.

Samson said the 8,000 delegates were so happy to have experienced the “Bulacan hospitality”.

“He assured na magiging comfortable ang lahat ng delegates ng boy scouts and that’s what happened. Along with the municipality of San Rafael headed by Mayor Cipriano Violago, everything went smooth. They have both proven that they’re not just leaders of Bulacan but of all the boy scouts as well,” Samson said.

Boy Scout Sherwin Gatchalian of Baler, Aurora anticipated that their five-day Jamboree in Bulacan will not be easy.

“Pagdating namin, inexpect namin ‘yung worse, pero iba pala. Pagdating namin may mga ilaw, may mga pulis na nag-guide. May tubig at mga cr pa,” Gatchalian added.

Meanwhile, as part of the activities in the Jamboree, the delegates displayed their handiness on Skills Competition that includes fancy drill, signaling, fire building and knot tying.

For the fancy drill category, Bulacan got the first place followed by Bataan and James L. Gordon, Olongapo for the second and third places.
Ramon Magsaysay, Zambales reigned in signaling, Bataan landed on second place and Bulacan for third place.

For fire building with water boiling, James L. Gordon, Olongapo got the first place while Ramon Magsaysay, Zambales and Pampanga were hailed as the second and third placers.

Also, Bulacan got the first place in knot tying and for the second and third places were divisions of Cabanatuan and Baguio.

Aside from the provinces in region 3, cities of Makati, Baguio, Tuguegarao, and Cagayan also attended as guest delegates on the said Jamboree. ###
