Bulacan all set for Lenten exodus

CITY OF MALOLOS – With the Lenten season in full swing, the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) is again providing assistance to motorists from April 16 to 20, 2014 in the province.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said the Oplan Lakbay Alalay (SUMVAC) 2014 with its Bulacan Rescue Team is all set to ensure a safe and worry free travel.

All partner agencies such as the local government rescue teams, Assistance and Rescue through Radio communications for Emergency Situations and Traffic (ARREST), Bulacan Integrated Rescue Association (BIRA), Kabalikat Civicom–Bulacan, Rescue 117, Baliwag Assistance & Rescue Group, Inc. (BARG), Philippine Red Cross, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police and Spectrum communication will be in full alert to assist traveling motorists.

For the safety and protection of the people who will visit places of devotion for their Lenten rites, there will be first aid station in Brgy. Kapitangan, Paombong on April 17 to 18; Divine Mercy National Shrine in Marilao on April 16 to 18; in front the PGB on April 16 to 20 and 24/7 at the PDRRMO Operation Center located at the Capitol Compound in this city.

On April 17, two roving teams will conduct monitoring and motorists’ assistance at all locations in the province.
Also, Alvarado said that for emergency and rescue services, just dial the Bulacan Rescue hotline 791-0566 or 117. ###
