CITY OF MALOLOS – President Benigno Aquino III has appointed Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado as the new chairman of the Regional Development Council (RDC) in Central Luzon.
The announcement was made last Friday by acting RDC Chairman Severino Santos, regional director of National Economic Development Authority.
According to him, Alvarado’s appointment is due to the president’s trust and confidence in his leadership.
He will serve for three years during his regular term as elected official wherein he will assume his post as RDC 3 chairman after copies of his oath of office were given to Malacañang and Civil Service Commission.
Alvarado is a lone nominee for RDC chairmanship of Central Luzon governors, mayors and council members.
The newly appointed RDC 3 chairman vowed to focus on flood control, water management and energy development, particularly in the conversion of the Bayabas River to a dam and repair of Bulo irrigation dam in San Miguel town. ###
