CITY OF MALOLOS – President Benigno Aquino III led the opening ceremony of the world’s largest indoor theater on earth, the Iglesia ni Cristo’s Philippine Arena located in Bocaue, Bulacan, Monday morning.

Aquino, together with INC Executive Minister Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo unveiled the marker for the multi-purpose complex in front of the arena, which signals the opening of Ciudad de Victoria in time for the INC’s centennial celebration on July 27, 2014.

The said date has been declared by Malacañang as a special non-working holiday.

The President also said that everyone should strive harder to contribute for the betterment of the nation.

Meanwhile, Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that this event and complex will help Bulacan in many ways.

Brother Bienvenido Santiago, Minister of INC expressed his gratitude for the Lord’s blessings that gave way to the said event.

“The Philippine arena is not just for the members of INC, its world class amenities and conveniences are open for the Filipino nation and even for the international community to experience and enjoy. The Executive Minister Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo announced that this architectural and engineering marvel of arena is not just for the sake of the church but also for the honor of the Philippines, for the benefit of the Filipino people, and above all for the glory of God,” shared Santiago.

However, he also said that though it is open for all, events and occasions that will be held depends on its wholesomeness and should be based on the values that the church upholds.

Also, expected to be completed at the Ciudad de Victoria are the 20,000 seater Philippine Stadium, New Era University, Eraño G. Manalo Medical Center, and some soon-to-rise shops, hotels, and leisure parks.

The construction of the Philippine Arena, which costs more than $200 million with its own exit at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) was inspired by narra and banyan trees and has a dome spanning over 3.6 hectares. ###
