CITY OF MALOLOS – People from different parts of the world expressed their desire to participate in building a kinder, fairer, better, and safer world after being enchanted and inspired during the gala night organized by Gawad Kalinga and the Provincial Government of Bulacan yesterday at Enchanted Farm in the town of Angat, Bulacan.

The said gala night which is part of the three-day 2nd Social Business Summit that will run until October 4 was held to entertain and give the guests a taste of Filipino culture while experiencing the nature.

Gawad Kalinga founder Tony Meloto highlighted before the guests how Bulacan is an ideal place for investors with hearts to help the society.

“Napakaganda ng Bulacan. Gradually they are able to know that the first Farm Village University in the world is in Bulacan. I will be replicating this all over the country in partnership with the state universities. We expect that every year they will be coming back and the greatest thing is that the people of Bulacan are very hospitable. We have the full support of the province, of the LGU. Bulacan now is near Manila so it’s not also difficult to attract a lot of CEOs and a lot of people from Manila to invest here,” Meloto said.

One of the attendees, Florence Corbasson from France, said that the event is wonderful and well organized.

“It’s the first time we got to GK so we find everything very interesting. It makes many entrepreneurs discover some new projects and also get to know more about the philosophy of GK the way it helps the poor and how can we help,” Corbasson said.

Robert Ang, a balikbayan from United States of America, said that it’s very helpful that he attended the event and be able to see that there is hope for the world, for the Filipinos despite the flooding of bad news.

“If I didn’t attend this event I say the Philippines is hopeless because of what we hear from the news and now it’s fantastic, we got a lot of enthusiastic people, local and foreign coming together to understand how it is to grow your business and be of help to the society,” Ang said.

The GK and the PGB is pushing to realize the summit’s objectives which is to highlight the value of social entrepreneurship in achieving inclusive growth in emerging economies, particularly the Philippines, promote global partnerships, networking, and impact investment in building scalable and sustainable social enterprises, and to raise a new generation of wealth creators that will renew the planet and revitalize human life. ###
